Jazz Picnic. On Saturday and Sunday we are hosting another of our fabulous Jazz Picnics. We will provide you with blankets and a picnic basket of goodies for your delectation, while you relax amongst nature and take in the splendid mountain views. And should you decide that you want a full meal, or that you want to stay on throughout the afternoon, we also have a full set menu.

Saturday: 12:00 to 15:00 with music by John Hargreaves

Sunday: 12:00 to 15:00 with music by André Combrink

On both days there will also be lectures on winemaking, given in the winery by Ruud and Patrick. 09:00 to 12:00 and 15:00 to 18:00

Fixed menu:-
Starter - Butternut Soup served with home baked bread
Main - Our famous Lamb Knuckle Curry served with rice
Dessert - Traditional Malva Pudding served with home made custard

Mum’s the word at Kingsriver this Sunday Kingsriver is celebrating Mothers Day with a four course meal, as well as fun activities for the whole family.

How well do you know mom? The day includes a quiz for fathers and children to answer questions about mom. Then its mom’s turn to answer the same questions, the one that matches up the most corresponding answer wins a pamper voucher. There’s also a colouring competition for the little ones and prizes available for the one who draws the best picture of their mom.

Vocalist Andre Combrinck will also be performing for the guests at the estate in celebration of the McGregor Arts Festival.

Mother’s Day lunch starts at 12h00 and costs R200.00pp (children 12 years and younger are half price). A kiddies menu is also available.

Entrée Leek and potato soup served with chive crème fraiche and cheese straws

Starter Ham hock terrine with a tangy sauce

Main (buffet style)

- Roast rib of beef with a mustard sauce OR
- Maple baked gammon with a parsley sauce

Both meals are served with yellow rice, broccoli and cauliflower bake and roasted potatoes

Dessert

- Double chocolate pudding parfait OR
- Cheese cake with cream

The perfect pair

The Kingsriver kitchen will take your taste buds on an unforgettable journey with its delectable food and wine pairings. Visitors are invited to sample tasty bite-sized treats, which include tempura prawns, hearty lamb knuckle curry and decadent chocolate cake and dark truffles – all available on the estate’s restaurant menu – accompanied by perfectly paired estate wines.

The estate opens at 10h00 and the food and wine pairing will be available free of charge until 21h00. Yes … free of charge!

Four course lunches and dinners accompanied by a music quiz provided by MTL Music and Sound. Estate winemaker Ruud de Clercq has personally selected wines to compliment each dish. His selection includes a crisp Sauvignon Blanc, a precious Mzansi Ruby Cabernet, a robust Mzansi Shiraz and a sweet apricot wine to end off your meal.
